Nie Jinghan
Nie Jinghan is an artist and curator, born in 2007 in Beijing, China. Her works include installations, oil paintings, sculptures, and videos. She focuses on recording, deconstructing, and reconstructing elements of life and culture.
Her themes primarily address: the conflict between the rapid development of modern society and the modernization of traditional culture; the alienation of people caused by technological advancement and excessive reliance on tools; the relationship between gender, body, and living conditions; and critique and self-reflection on oppressive systems.
The artist seeks to create a language of free expression, rejecting mechanical reproduction in favor of using color and lines to convey emotions and viewpoints, countering surrounding aggression. Her art encourages imagination and reflection over mere memory and sympathy, aiming for healing Through various media, she explores the disconnection between individuals and groups, transforming records into more expressive forms of secondary creation.
